From March 1 to 31 members of the community can explore Qatar Museums’ current exhibitions for free. The museum is offering free admission to a number of ongoing exhibitions, including Jeff Koons: Lost in America; Virgil Abloh: Figures of Speech; and Kader Attia: On Silence among others. A host of culturally enriching activities are being hosted at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) this month for art enthusiasts of all ages. These activities will include workshops and tours among other culturally inspiring activities.
The Jeff Koons – Lost in America exhibition presents over 60 sculptures and paintings with mirrored surfaces, depicting the eminent American artist’s four-decade career, giving visitors a unique insight into his memories, influences, and fascination with American culture.
As part of the ‘Figures of Speech’ exhibition, visitors experience more than 55 pieces of Virgil Abloh’s pioneering media practice, spanning visual arts, music, fashion, architecture and design. Throughout the exhibition, Abloh uses quotation marks and language to illustrate objects and people in his works as ‘Figures of Speech.’

With installations, sculptures, collages and other mediums, Kader Attia’s solo exhibition On Silence showcases the artist’s two-decade-long artistic career in a way that inspires audiences to reflect on the concepts of heritage and aspiration, convention and transgression, colonialism and liberation, the local and the transnational. In her works as well as in discussions of ecology and our material and nonmaterial relationship to the universe, the artist echoes these themes. Tickets can be purchased through Qatar Museums website.
